Hiking in Finnentrop

The municipality of Finnentrop is located relatively centrally in the Sauerland. The municipality offers a varied landscape, which you can best discover on the large Finnentrop circular hiking trail. It is 82 km long and can be divided into individual sections as desired. The signposting is white on a black background and has been set up by the local SGV department.

Circular hiking trail "Wildewiese"

This 11.5 km long circular hiking trail Wildewiese impresses with its two magnificent forest areas in the Gehren and Schneebecke valleys. A babbling brook accompanies you constantly along this section of the trail. In the Schneebecke valley it is even on both sides of the path - a rarity!

Beautiful meadow valleys spread out in the Gehren and Waldbach valleys - simply a feast for the eyes. The tour takes about 3 hours and the starting points are Sundern-Wildewiese or Sundern-Endorferhütte.

On 250 varied kilometres, the trail offers grandiose views and up-close nature (experience) from the most beautiful perspective - from way up high - like no other. The route between the starting points of Altena, Meinerzhagen and Korbach runs at altitudes between 400 and 800 metres and remains without any major climbs.

The access path to the Sauerland-Höhenflug leads from Ostentrop to Schönholthausen, in the village along the Heimatstube (in front of our house) and meets the Sauerland-Höhenflug at Lenhausen. In the immediate vicinity of the Faulebutter hiking car park you will find another access point to the Sauerland Höhenflug.
